IN Memory of Robert Luffrum 18/10/33 -- 05/10/24 Good afternoon, Everyone, We are all here today with heavy hearts as we bid a heartfelt farewell to our beloved dad, grandad and special friend, Robert (Bob). Robert lived his later years on the beautiful, Mediterranean island of Cyprus. He owned a bungalow in the traditional, quaint village of Xyflogau, which is a red soil village. Bob was a man of routine, and he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his many friends visiting local English Markets, Supermarkets and enjoying Fish and Chips with his friend Pete every Friday. Bobs one other pleasure in life was a sneaky Gorden's Gin on his patio enjoying the wonderful weather Cyprus offers. He was old fashioned in many ways, and he enjoyed nothing more than paying his bills in person rather then online. Following, the sudden death of his late wife Chris, his health deteriorated and unfortunately some of his independence was stolen so his outings with his friends were reduced, but Bob still had the same sparkle in his eyes and smile on his face. In March 2024, Bob was sadly admitted to a residential home, but he still had the same mischievous sense of humour and when you visited him his eyes would sparkle as he would wait to see what treats you had brought. God help you if you never brought him anything, he would never let you live it down. Bob always said that he did not like tomatoes, but he used to love a cheese and tomato sandwich. As I previously stated Bob was A man of habit and every evening everything had to be in the right place, and you were not leaving until it was. During this time, he shared a room with his dear friend – Antonis and he wanted to say ´Bob was a very dear friend who helped me learn English and we created many memories, and we loved nothing more then sharing jokes about the staff and food and only him and I would understand them. During our times together we watched many football games including his beloved Brentford and at night we would spend many hours watching Western movies when really, we should have been sleeping. I JUST want to thank you Bob for creating these memories and I will miss you.' As Kellie said we were like an old married couple! As you complete your final journey with the family you loved may you now rest in peace. You will be missed by everyone in Cyprus who encountered your smile and generosity , but tonight we will remember you by raising a G&T to the bright star in the sky, which is you. Thank you for everything Bob and for the many memories we shared . God Bless Kellie & Michael
